Fourth Avenue Underpass Construction Alert: Travel Restrictions

This is a continuing series of construction alerts that will be issued throughout the construction of the Fourth Avenue Underpass Improvement Project. These alerts will announce construction, detour and closure information as it affects traffic. Motorists are asked to obey all posted speed limit signs within the construction area and be alert for construction crews and personnel working in the area.
PLEASE NOTE: OTHER DOWNTOWN CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY UNRELATED TO THE FOURTH AVENUE UNDERPASS PROJECT MAY ALSO AFFECT TRAFFIC.
Toole Avenue – Temporary Closure
On Monday, September 21, 2009, Toole Avenue, between Congress Street and Fifth Avenue, will remain closed while the contractor completes the paving operation along this section of roadway. Toole Avenue is scheduled to reopen to travel at 4 p.m.
Congress – Temporary Right Lane Closure
On Monday, September 21, 2009, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., the right lane of Congress Street between Fourth Avenue and Fifth Avenue will be closed. The closure will allow the contractor to pave the East End of Congress at its intersection with Toole Avenue.
