Traffic Alert Fourth Avenue Underpass Construction Alert

This is a continuing series of construction alerts that will be issued throughout the construction of the Fourth Avenue Underpass Improvement Project. These alerts will announce construction, detour and closure information as it affects traffic. Motorists are asked to obey all posted speed limit signs within the construction area and be alert for construction crews and personnel working in the area.
PLEASE NOTE: OTHER DOWNTOWN CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY UNRELATED TO THE FOURTH AVENUE UNDERPASS PROJECT MAY ALSO AFFECT TRAFFIC.
On Monday, August 31, 2009, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., both northbound and southbound travel lanes in the Fourth Avenue Underpass will be closed between Ninth Street and Congress Street. Pedestrian access through the underpass will be maintained.
The street closure is in place to allow work crews to complete welding and painting the Multi-Use Path on top off the north end of the underpass.
