Bicycle Lane Installation

Beginning on Monday, August 10, 2009, Southwest Slurry Seal Inc., under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation, will obliterate travel lane lines and restripe to add bicycle lanes on several City of Tucson streets. Existing travel lane lines will be removed or covered with a slurry seal and/or black paint.
The streets being restriped are:
- Speedway Boulevard – Alvernon Way to Rosemont Boulevard
- Alvernon Way – Interstate 10 to Concord Stravenue
- Park Avenue – Ajo Way to Irvington Road
- Campbell Avenue – Elm Street to Third Street
- Pantano Road – Broadway to Speedway Boulevard.
The removal of the travel lane lines and temporary striping will take place from August 10, 2009 through Friday, August 21, 2009. Permanent striping is scheduled to take place during the week of August 31, 2009. Work hours are 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The traveling public can expect delays when driving or bicycling in these work areas. Business and residential access will be maintained. For your safety, please observe all traffic control signage, message boards, and obey reduced speed limits. Watch for construction personnel and equipment in the work zone.
